Happy Pride Month to all! 🌈 We love and
have so much pride in our Wild Onion Market community!
Inclusivity is at the core of our values at this community-owned
market. Thank you all for co-creating a space that is welcome to
all. |
This month, we’re celebrating two years of being at
the heart of an ever-growing, flourishing community dedicated to good
local food. We want you to join us—become an owner and feel the impact
of participating in something bigger than yourself. Eat your
values! |
Round Up for Howard Brown Health |
In honor of Pride Month, we're rounding up at the register
for Howard Brown Health. One of the nation's largest LGBTQ+ healthcare
and social service organizations, Howard Brown provides affirming and
inclusive care for more than 40,000 adults and youth across
Chicago. |
When you Round Up at the Register this
month, your funds directly help sustain and expand access to
people in Rogers Park who seek affirming, high quality healthcare and
social services such as primary medical care, mental health, and
behavioral health services, HIV prevention and treatment, and
more. |

Just in this week—scallions, garlic
scapes, green beans, and yellow summer squash! Sounds like it's time
to pull out your best summer salad recipes and get roasting, sautéing,
and mixing!
Fun fact about alliums (the family that
onions, garlic, garlic scapes, and ramps fall into): you can eat them
in many forms! Garlic scapes are cut from the plant to prevent it from
flowering and redirect energy towards bulb production. And green
garlic is just a less mature version of the traditional garlic bulbs
at the store. You can use the entire stalk as a substitute for any
dish that has garlic in it...be sure to check out our pesto recipe
below!

Recipe of the
Week
Green garlic pesto?! That's right, you can use more than just the
traditional garlic bulbs to make pesto. Green garlic is just a less
mature version of the bulbs we know and love, but you can use the
entire stalk in this delectable pesto recipe!
