You've been waiting all summer for
them, and now they're finally back! That's right, our favorite
indigenous fruit—pawpaws—are ripe and ready. The largest native edible
plant in the U.S. and Canada, pawpaws are known for their creamy
texture and unique flavor that some describe as a mix between a mango,
banana, and pineapple. You'll just have to give them a taste
yourself!
Plus, we have a cornucopia of other
fruity selections this week. From Mick Klüg Farms (St. Joseph, MI) we've brought in
some Bartlett pears, Italian plums, Honeycrisp apples, as well as
Fredonia and Marquis grapes. From Ellis Family Farms (St. Joseph, MI), we have
blueberries and peaches, and more raspberries and ground cherries from
Seedling Farms (South Haven, MI). The pawpaws are
from our friends at Spence Farm!
