On 1 July 2026, the European Data Protection Board and the Anti-Money Laundering Authority announced the development of joint guidelines on partnerships for information sharing under Article 75 of the Anti-Money Laundering Regulation. The guidelines will apply to entities covered by the European Union anti-money laundering framework and to public authorities involved in preventing money laundering and terrorist financing. The guidelines aim to clarify how information may be shared between private entities and public authorities while complying with data protection requirements. The European Data Protection Board and the Anti-Money Laundering Authority stated that stakeholder engagement activities will take place later in 2026 and that a public consultation on draft guidelines is planned for the first half of 2027.
