- "Designed by 360 Design Studio, the new development would take shape as a four-story, mixed-use building reaching approximately 65 feet tall. ·Remembering Jae Soung Lee of Budacki's Drive-In - Jae Soung Lee passed away on August 16, 2026, at the age of 55. Born and raised in Korea, Jae settled in Deerfield, Illinois and a long-time Chicago small business owner. Along with the beloved local hot dog stand Budacki's, he also owned Crisp, a popular Korean fried chicken spot in Lakeview. Of that venture, Lee once shared: "When I was starting the restaurant my mom told me, 'This is never going to work. This concept? No. You’re ruining a thousand years of tradition, you’re mixing and matching these American and Korean flavors.' But just the fact that someone who comes in enjoys it enough that they’re going to bring a friend or relative over, that means everything." More Info
·Remembering Jacob Fishman of Lightwriters Neon - "Jacob Alan Fishman, 74, a devoted father, husband, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 5, 2026 in Chicago. As a father and community member Jacob radiated kindness, dedication to craftsmanship, and the importance of friendship. In the neon world he was a beloved teacher and was known for bridging the gap between being an artist and an engineer. Among his many achievements, co-authoring The Neon Engineers Notebook and teaching countless students over 50 years in the craft are among what made him a pillar in the community." More Info
·Fundraiser for the Family of Officer John Bartholomew - Chicago Police Officer John Bartholomew was shot and killed by a robbery suspect at Swedish Hospital on the morning of April 25, 2026. Officer Bartholomew served with CPD for 10 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Renee Bartholomew, and his three children- Oliver, Miles, and Sophia. ·Support the Ravenswood Community Services Food Pantry & Community Kitchen - Every Tuesday, RCS distributes groceries and hot meals to neighbors. Volunteers are welcome and asked to sign up in advance. Other ways to help include donations of pasta and rice, financial support for the food pantry and community kitchen, and words of encouragement posted to RCS's Facebook page. More Info
