SSA #26 Renewal

Attention property owners on Broadway and adjacent commercial streets

Edgewater Chamber of Commerce is working to renew

Special Service Area #26 and we need your help!

SSA's current term expires at the end of 2026, and we need the help of SSA tax-paying PIN-holders to renew SSA #26 for 2027 and beyond.

If you are a property owner or landlord in SSA #26 in Edgewater, now is the time. We need your signature and approval to renew for the next 15 years.

If SSA 26 expires, sections of Broadway, Devon, and the adjacent business districts in Edgewater will lose essential services in 2027 like sidewalk litter abatement, landscaping, streetscaping, holiday decor, sidewalk snow removal, public art, branding, bike racks, and street banners.

This area includes residential condos on Broadway, Bryn Mawr, Devon, Granville, Catalpa, and some adjacent side streets

We especially need to hear from you if you own a unit in these properties:

1134 W. Granville

5858 N. Broadway

1122 W. Catalpa

1206 W. Victoria

6124 N. Broadway

1128 W. Ardmore

1052-1062 W. Granville

Please contact us ASAP so our team can send you your individualized SSA renewal signature form.

If you're a property owner ready to approve and sign,

please contact Jessica Wobbekind in our office at jessica@edgewater.org

It takes less than a minute to provide your signature.

SSA #26 does not include any properties on Sheridan Road. If you live on Sheridan, we still love you, but we do not need your signature.

Not sure if you're located in SSA 26? You can see a map of the current SSA boundaries and proposed extension along Devon below:

In case you missed it...

Edgewater Music Fest's 2026 lineup is here

We can't wait to rock out with you on Broadway in Edgewater on August 28-30 for year two of Chicago's coolest street fest.

Edgewater Music Fest will include 30+ music acts, the largest street vendor market in Edgewater's history, tons of local & pop-up food options, a dedicated kids area, and of course, delicious beverages from some of our favorite local breweries.

Thank you to our presenting sponsor Victory Honda Chicago Northside for helping to make this year's event bigger and better.

Ted Leo & The Pharmacists

Ted Leo & The Pharmacists will headline the Victory Honda Stage on Saturday night of EMF 2026! Formed in 1999 in Washington D.C., they've released dozens of albums and EPs combining elements of punk rock, indie rock, art punk, and folk music.

In 2024 the band toured the US to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their landmark album Shake The Sheets.

They've headlined Square Roots, Metro, Do Division, Thalia Hall, Wicker Park Fest, Pritzker Pavilion, Riviera Theater, and also played Lollapalooza (2007) and Pitchfork Music Festival (2006).

Nnamdï

Multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer that defies labels. His solo performances showcase pop, electronic, hip-hop, and jazz sensibilities. He's also one of the best drummers in the Chicago indie rock scene.

His 2020 album Brat exploded and put him on the map, but since then, he's released a punk rock EP, a drum & bass EP, and a record inspired by Looney Tunes music. So, we're not entirely sure what vibe he'll be bringing to EMF. But we can assure you it will be epic!

Nnamdï has played Pitchfork Music Festival and toured with Wilco, Sleater-Kinney, Black Midi, Jeff Rosentock, and Pile.

Maps & Atlases

Legendary Chicago indie outfit Maps & Atlases perform rock blended with pastoral folk, pop, and

experimental influences. From their early math

rock roots to their sprawling 2010 debut Perch Patchwork, they eventually evolved to incorporate pop elements on their fourth album Lightlessness Is Nothing New, which arrived in 2018 following an extended hiatus.

They've appeared at Pritzker Pavilion, Riot Fest, Lollapalooza, North Coast Music Festival, Wicker Park Fest, Metro, Schubas, Beat Kitchen, and pretty much every Chicago venue ever.

Mucca Pazza

Mucca Pazza is a 30-odd-member "rock ‘n roll marching band" with an ever-changing roster from Chicago, formed in 2004. Trumpets, trombones, saxes and sousaphones combined with guitar, mandolin, violin, cello, drumline. Plus cheerleaders performing absurdist chants and dance freakouts. Part marching band, part street theater spectacle.

They've made appearances at Lollapalooza, Montreal Jazz Festival, Square Roots, Auditorium Theater, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, NPR's Tiny Desk, and just helped open the Obama Presidential Center.

Spitalfield

Formed in the Chicago suburbs in 1998, punk/emo heroes Spitalfield joined Victory Records with their 2003 album Remember Right Now, and released two more albums (Stop Doing Bad Things and Better Than Knowing Where You Are) shortly after. The band broke up in 2007 after selling over 130,000 records.

Fast forward to 2026 and Spitalfield is back in action, riding the emo revival wave as if they never left in the first place.

They recently headlined Taste of Randolph and Do Division.

LowDown Brass Band

LowDown Brass Band is a one-of-a-kind horn ensemble from Chicago that weaves conscious hip hop, reggae, funk, and soul -- all founded upon a rebellious spirit. Their street festival sets are infectious and legendary. Get ready to party on Saturday night, Edgewater. Bring your dancing shoes.

LowDown has performed at Montreal Jazz Fest, Bonnaroo, Summer Camp, Wicker Park Fest, and at festivals all over the world.

Neptune's Core

This critically acclaimed Chicago alt indie rock band made up of two sets of sisters... who are all in college and high school!

These bad-ass multi-instrumentalists with classical and jazz background are not just torchbearers for Chicago's youth movement, they're quickly turning into one of Chicago's best indie bands, period!

Their recent credits include Thalia Hall, Metro, Square Roots, Milwaukee's Summerfest, SXSW, Subterranean, plus they've opened for huge acts like Geese and Twin Peaks.

North By North

A lo-fi pop-infused garage rock duo from Chicago, North By North are absolute road warriors, playing over 800 shows since 2017.

Their 2016 release, Last Days of Magic, is a Stephen King-inspired, femme-fatale-filled concept album that investigates the space where science-fiction and mysticism meet modern society.

North by North have toured with Eagles of Death Metal and Tegan & Sara, and played Chicago venues such as Metro and Sleeping Village.

And we still have 20+ more artists to be announced!
