Hey Harry, So Apple announced an all-new visual style coming to all their platforms π€ It's called Liquid Glass, and it looks like this: And it's pretty contentious: π«² ON ONE HAND... It looks great + feels fresh π π«± ON THE OTHER HAND... What happened to legibility? Plus, the flashy refractions put more focus on the background than the content π€¦ββοΈ β and isn't this a giant waste of GPU that will turn all but the newest iPhones into overheating lagfests!? π₯ (OK, OK, maybe I'll withhold judgement until I use it π) In any case, Liquid Glass is technically impossible to re-create 100% in Figma, but I just published a tutorial on how to do the closest possible effect to Liquid Glass in Figma. I included the why behind each step, so you can modify as your design needs. (If you're interested in the finer details of lighting and material, check it out π) Cheers, PS. Congrats to Lucy W. of London, England, who won access to Learn UI Design for participating in my survey earlier this week. Check your email π Anyhow, I'll be using frequently-requested topics from the survey to publish some tutorials in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned! π«‘ |
