Are you wondering what to do with that saggy jack-o-lantern on your porch now that Halloween is over? Bring it to our Annual Pumpkin Smash to say goodbye the eco-friendly way!
Bring your pumpkins by Lake View High School (4015 N Ashland) anytime between 10am and 2pm this Saturday, Nov. 8th. We'll have lots of fun ways to send your pumpkin flying into a dumpster, whether with a baseball bat, tennis racket, or even through a basketball hoop.
Thanks to Brackenbox, all pumpkins brought to LVHS will be composted instead of ending up in a landfill. Fun fact: pumpkins don’t break down properly in landfills, so composting is the way to go! Every year, we save thousands of pounds of pumpkins from the landfill. Let's keep that up this year!
47th Ward staff, the Graceland West Neighborhood Association, and Block Bins Composting teams will also be available to chat all day. We hope to see you there!
