Everyday, our office hears from residents concerned about federal budget cuts, civil rights issues, and the state of our democratic institutions. That's why we're hosting a community conversation next week at the DANK Haus, which includes a panel of legal, labor, civil rights, and good government experts.

You'll hear directly from representatives from organizations like the ACLU of Illinois, Reform for Illinois, and Common Cause Illinois, and learn about their work on democracy reforms, immigration, LGBTQ rights, workers rights, and more.

Whether you have questions about how federal budget cuts impact the city budget and social services, you're concerned about rapid changes in federal immigration policy, or the targeting of higher education institutions and law firms, this event is an opportunity to come together to discuss changes in federal policy and protecting democratic institutions.

In addition to pre-selected questions submitted in advance by attendees, there will be an opportunity to ask questions live, in-person. We hope to see you at DANK Haus on Thursday, April 24th at 6 PM. RSVPs are highly encouraged.
