Registration opens for our Adult Language Program November 11th, sign up early as the Winter session fills quickly. We are hosting Laterne Laufen in the woods for the children, sponsored by Bob's Belgian Hot Chocolate, with Glühwein for the adults. Registration details are below. Step into the world of German storytelling with the timeless tales of the Brothers Grimm! In this 5-week beginner-friendly online book club, we’ll read and discuss select fairy tales in German and English—exploring vocabulary, cultural context, and the fascinating contrasts between the originals and modern versions. Each session includes guided reading, discussion, and light grammar practice to boost confidence in comprehension and speaking.


Continue the story in January with our History Presentation, The World of the Brothers Grimm, by Mike Haas. Discover what inspired their legendary tales!

Bring your lanterns and join us for a magical evening walk through the woods at Peterson Park. Enjoy Laterne Laufen, singing, and warm drinks like hot chocolate and Glühwein after the walk.

Our exhibit traces the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall--once a stark symbol of separation between East and West--and the courage, resilience, and hope that ultimately brought the German people back together.

K.G. Rheinischer Verein Chicago 1890 Presents: Opening of the Karneval Season!

The "fifth season" is upon us! Join the K.G. Rheinischer Verein Chicago 1890 as they kick off the Karneval season. Doors open at the traditional 6:11 PM, making the start of an evening full of laughter and lively celebration!


Enjoy festive live music from Paloma, vibrant performances from the Fanfaren Drums and Bugle Corps, and the energetic Amazonen Dance Corps. Dust off your costumes, bring your friends, and get ready for a night of fun!
