AI USE CASES |
Using voice in AI as your mind-reading personal assistant |
|
You know those scenes in movies where the CEO is speed-walking through the office, casually throwing out genius ideas while a personal assistant captures every word? |
Yeah. That’s you now. |
Except your assistant is AI (and it doesn’t need coffee breaks). |
Tell us if this sounds like you |
You have ideas at the worst possible times: |
|
By the time you find a pen to jot it all down, it’s gone. Never to be remembered again. |
No notebook keeps up with your brain as fast as AI can. (And, if you’re like me and get ideas in the middle of the night, your eyes and fingers probably aren’t even working properly.) |
How to turn AI into your pocket assistant |
It’s almost embarrassingly simple: |
Download ChatGPT on your phone. (Or Gemini if that’s your flavor.) Tap the mic. Start talking.
|
That’s it. |
No formatting. No structure. No overthinking. |
Just brain → mouth → AI. |
You can also use your phone’s built-in recorder, too, and upload the files later. |
What you can actually use this for |
This is where it gets fun. |
Book idea? |
Talk it out. Ramble. Let it be messy. Then ask AI: “Turn this into a structured outline.” |
Grocery list? |
Open the fridge. Narrate what you see. |
“Out of eggs. Low on milk. And, why do we have five mustards?” |
Then ask: “Turn this into a categorized grocery list.” |
And, you can also adjust this by your budget this week or which grocery store you actually have time to stop at. |
“I only have $100 this week. Help me use this on a mix of replacing the staples while also being able to stretch ingredients for a few meals.” |
Interesting conversation? |
You and your partner spiraling into a surprisingly deep discussion? |
Hit record. |
Later ask: “Can you sum up the key ideas and turn this into a podcast outline?” |
Who knows - maybe you and your partner will be famous content creators. Or, you and your bestie can actually do something with those Whatsapp voice clips you keep sending each other. |
Get an unbiased perspective on a disagreement |
If you feel a conversation starting to get tense, try having AI listen in. It might feel a little awkward at first, but it can be a genuinely useful way to get an outside view when emotions are running high. |
Ask it: 'What's the real issue we're having here and how can we move forward?'
|
Because it's picking up on the actual conversation, it can also reflect on tone - so you might try asking, 'How could we communicate better with each other?'
|
It's not a replacement for a therapist or a trusted friend, but it does remove the judgement factor, which can make it easier to hear.
|
Brain dump mode |
Overwhelmed? Just literally hit record and start talking. |
Then ask: |
“Organize this into actionable tasks.” “Pull out the priorities.” “What do you think I need most right now?” “Turn this into a weekly plan.” “Help me talk to my boss about this.”
|
If you’re interested in writing a book and some ideas come to mind randomly, this could work well in NotebookLM to get your ideas in order. You can then ask it to give you writing prompts based on the brain dump with a goal of writing 10,000 words a day. (Or, whatever goal you have for yourself.) |
Why this works so well |
Most people use AI like a search engine, but it’s also used as a tool that can dig inside your brain a bit more. |
By recording your thoughts when your mind is free, it can pick up on things faster than you may be able to write them down or try and explain them. |
The only thing it can’t do (for now) is read your thoughts before you say them. |

Use voice-to-text. Don’t type. Brain dump first. Organize later. Ask AI to structure, summarize, prioritize. Use it for real life (groceries, plans, arguments, ideas). Treat it like a junior executive assistant with infinite patience. It can’t read your mind (yet).
