This Earth Week event features activities led by local partners including Ladd Arboretum Stewards and Natural Habitat Evanston. The program includes a native plant walk, tree identification walk, and a lasagna planting demonstration. Free native trees and shrubs are available, along with a drop-in nature craft for kids.

Hatchet Burger hosts a 420-themed pop-up burger night with a special menu and guest bartender from Ward Eight. The lineup includes items like the Stoney Baloney and themed snacks, along with special cocktails and other drinks.

The library hosts a screening of Song Sung Blue, a dramatized story of a Milwaukee Neil Diamond tribute duo. The film follows Mike and Claire Sardina as they perform as Lightning & Thunder.

This Earth Week event focuses on water and wetlands at the Evanston Ecology Center. A drop-in workshop led by ecology staff explores macroinvertebrates and their role in local waterways. The program highlights how wetlands support surrounding ecosystems.

This weekly pop-up features tiki drinks and a menu of smash burgers, ceviche, and rotating appetizers. Run by brothers Zeff and Marty, the event brings their tiki and burger concept to Ward Eight each Tuesday.

This Science Sips talk features Loyola University’s Tim Hoellein and Sea Grant’s Sarah Zack discussing research on trash in Lake Michigan and Chicago waterways and how we can make a difference. A Great Lakes trivia game is also included.

Land & Lake Cafe opens its downtown Evanston location with coffee, breakfast, and sandwiches. The first ten customers with a purchase receive a $50 reloadable gift card, plus there will be food specials from April 22 to 25 as part of opening week specials. 
Wildlife and HabitatTime: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Cost: Free Location: Evanston Ecology Center
This Earth Week program focuses on birds and habitat with the Evanston Northshore Bird Club and local partners. Activities include bird walks, a collision workshop, and a drop-in session on birding basics. A native seedling giveaway is available during the event. 
An Evening with Bethany Ford, Owner of Illahe WineryTime: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM Cost: $55.20 Location: The Wine Goddess
This tasting features wines from Illahe Winery. Guests will sample a range of sparkling, white, and red wines, including a Pinot Noir made without electricity. The event includes background on the winery and Ford’s work in Oregon winemaking.
