Happy Memorial Day from all of us at the Lincoln Square Farmers Market!

Today we pause to honor and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

We hope the holiday also brings time to gather with loved ones, enjoy good food, and soak in the unofficial start of summer.

The market year is off to a wonderful start, and we’ve loved seeing the community back together at Lincoln & Leland.

Spring produce continues to arrive in abundance with asparagus, greens, spring onions, fresh herbs, and plants filling the market tables each week. We all have our fingers crossed that we see other spring delights arrive soon! 

A quick scheduling reminder: there will be no Thursday market this week (May 28) as Lincoln Square prepares for the upcoming Maifest street festival. We’ll be back the following week and ready to continue another great market year together.

Pop-Up Vendor Update

With just one market this week and with Maifest around the corner, we won’t have any scheduled pop-up vendors joining us this week.

Looking ahead, we’ve got plenty of great pop-ups planned throughout the market year! Be sure to check out our website to see which vendors will be joining upcoming markets and when you can find them at Lincoln Square.

LINK AT THE MARKET:

Shopping with LINK/SNAP at the Lincoln Square Farmers Market is easy. When you’re ready to purchase from a participating vendor, let them know you’ll be paying with your LINK/SNAP card. The vendor will give you a receipt for the items you’d like to buy. Bring that receipt to the LSRCC LINK/SNAP tent, where we’ll process your payment and mark the receipt as paid. Then simply return the paid receipt to the vendor to receive your items. If you’d like a copy of your transaction, we can send a receipt by text or email (paper receipts are not available).

Recipe Box: Lions Mane “Crabcakes”

Sometimes a recipe comes along that completely surprises you and these Lions Mane “Crabcakes” absolutely fit the bill.

Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with savory flavor, they’re the kind of dish that makes you do a double take after the first bite.

One of our favorite things about market season is discovering creative ways to use ingredients that might be new to your kitchen, and Lions Mane mushrooms are definitely worth exploring.

Pro tip: make the cake mixture a day ahead so cooking day is quick and easy. And don’t skip the spicy mayo—mix together 1/2 cup mayo, 1 tablespoon each of sriracha and lemon juice, 1 teaspoon Old Bay, and salt to taste for the perfect finishing touch.



Fresh, crispy, a little spicy, and incredibly satisfying—this might become a new seasonal favorite.
