Hello Market Friends,

Summer has officially arrived! With the summer solstice behind us, we’re starting to see the market tables shift into the heart of the season and we couldn’t be more excited.

One of the most anticipated summer arrivals is beginning to make its appearance: tomatoes!

The first tomatoes are making their way out of greenhouses and cover rows, bringing that unmistakable taste of summer to the market.

They’re joining other seasonal favorites like sweet strawberries, crisp snap peas, fresh greens, and all the colorful produce that makes this time of year so special.

The best part about shopping the market right now? The harvest is constantly changing. Each week brings new surprises, new flavors, and new ways to enjoy local food at its peak.

Thank you for continuing to show up and support the farmers, makers, and small businesses that make the Lincoln Square Farmers Market such a special place. We’ll see you at the market!

Join us at 2301 W Leland Avenue

Recipe Box: Is Cabbage the New “It” Vegetable?

We keep hearing that cabbage is having a moment—and who are we to argue?

A humble market staple, cabbage has always been one of the most versatile vegetables around. It can be crisp and refreshing, slow-cooked and comforting, grilled, roasted, fermented, or transformed into something completely unexpected.

This week, we’re throwing our hat in the ring with a recipe that gives cabbage the spotlight it deserves: Spicy Asian Pork Cabbage Rolls.

Packed with savory flavors and wrapped in tender cabbage leaves, this recipe is a great way to turn a familiar vegetable into something exciting. It’s the perfect example of how a trip to the market can inspire you to see everyday ingredients in a whole new way.

Pick up a head of cabbage this week and see why this classic vegetable is getting the attention it deserves!

And don’t forget if you have a favorite seasonal recipe you’d like to share, send it to farmersmarket@lincolnsquare.org.

Your recipe might be featured in an upcoming Recipe Box!

Thank you for being part of the Lincoln Square Farmers Market community. Your support keeps our local farmers, makers, and small businesses thriving, and helps make Lincoln Square such a place!

We’re looking forward to seeing you at the market, here’s to a great season ahead, shared together.
