Federal Taproom Update Tickets Available

Join us for an evening of policy, pints, and small business advocacy at The Federal Taproom Update, featuring Congressman Mike Quigley. Hear firsthand about the latest developments coming out of Washington DC that impact small businesses, including federal support programs, tax policy, and more.


This event is co-hosted with the Small Business Advocacy Council (SBAC) and is designed to give business owners a voice in the legislative process at the

Federal level.

Apply Now: Community Development Grants for Small and Medium Businesses

Deadline: August 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM

Looking to renovate or expand your business? The City’s Community Development Grant program is now accepting applications for reimbursement grants of up to $250,000 (small projects) or $5 million (medium projects) to support construction, renovation, and pre-development costs.


Eligible project types include:

  • Commercial (office, retail)
  • Light industrial
  • Mixed-use (residential components must be under 25% of total costs and tied to broader building improvements)


Key requirements:

  • Projects must be revenue-generating
  • Priority is given to those that demonstrate strong local impact and community benefit

Business owners, property owners, entrepreneurs, and community developers

Security Camera Rebate Program Open

The Lincoln Square Neighborhood Improvement Program is running a rebate program for property owners looking to install new security cameras onto the public way. Below are program details. The application can be found here.


  • Who’s Eligible: Businesses and property owners within SSA #21 boundaries (see map to the right).
  • Rebate Amount: Up to 50% of the total cost of security camera purchase and installation, capped at $1,000 in total for the rebate.
  • Program Goal: Enhance public safety and deter crime by encouraging businesses and property owners to install security cameras.
  • Application Requirements: Submission of a completed application with itemized receipts, proof of payment, and a photo of the installed camera(s).

Through the Neighborhood Business Development Center (NBDC) program with the Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP), LSRCC is able to assist local entrepreneurs in navigating City Hall. LSRCC most commonly helps businesses start up, locate available real estate, connect to financial resources, find educational opportunities, and generally troubleshoot City-related issues.
