Local Business Openings

Last weekend, we cut the ribbon at Kanin Chicago. The opening day line was crazy and they quickly sold out of everything! We stopped back in this week to try some of their skewers and musubi. Delish!

Capriccio Artisan Pizza & Coffee opened this week at 4771 N Lincoln Avenue. We popped in to try out their La Colombe coffee and Roman-style pizza. The funghi was our favorite!

Other new businesses coming soon include:

Milestone Anniversaries

Make new friends, but keep the old as they say. New businesses coming to the neighborhood is amazing, but we'd also like to shine a light on some legacy businesses celebrating milestones this year!

Merz Apothecary is celebrating 150 years in business! To celebrate, they've got a brand new merch line including hats, t-shirts, and totes! Stop in to shop the collection!

Chakra Shoppe is marking 20 years in business! They'll be raffling off 2 luxury candles. Starting this weekend, you can stop in for your free raffle tickets to be drawn later this year. Join them tomorrow night for Catalyst Game Night!

CHIRP Radio is turning 15 and will be celebrating throughout the year. Right now, they're in the midst of their spring fundraising drive, working to raise $48,000 by March 20. Their next event is The First Time: First Course, a storytelling and live music show at Martyrs on Wednesday, March 19.

Mi Fogata is celebrating 7 years! Join them on Saturday, March 15, for Karaoke, Raffles, Great Food and Drinks starting at 6pm. Plus a DJ from 8pm - midnight!

Inside Scoop

When Gather closed, it was so sad to lose such a neighborhood gem. It was a favorite spot for so many, including our team at the Chamber. Birthdays and holidays, and everyday meals were made more delicious. One of us said more than once that the Whipped Ricotta would be their choice if given one option for a final meal.

We were elated to see the Whipped Ricotta pop up on The Warbler's North Side Restaurant Week menu, and beside ourselves when we learned it will be a permanent fixture on both the lunch and dinner menus at The Warbler going forward.

That's it. That's all you need to know this week.

Owner Tim Lacey is raising $500,000 on SMBX for working capital to relocate into a bigger space in Lincoln Square and refinance debt. Rather than going to a bank, he’s reaching out to the community to share in their success, giving you the opportunity to earn passive income. You can invest in their growth by purchasing ATLR Small Business Bonds™ on SMBX. After the offering closes, investors will receive monthly payments paid back at 10.75% interest over a 5 year period. View their offering here.
