Postal Service moving forward with Trump’s attack on mail voting

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) said it’s drawing up plans to radically crack down on mail voting, Democracy Docket reported. In a proposed rule, the agency said it would only send ballots to voters who are on lists created and controlled by the federal government.
It’s an alarming step toward implementing part of President Donald Trump’s sweeping executive order that attacks mail voting ahead of the 2026 midterm election. It also represents a massive expansion of federal control over voting, without congressional authorization.
The proposed rule comes a day after a federal judge dismissed one of multiple lawsuits against Trump’s order — saying the lawsuit was premature because the administration hadn’t begun implementing the order. It now appears to have done so.
