For now, Donald Trump's assault on free and fair elections has stalled. In the last few weeks, he has watched in anger as the Republican National Committee and the Department of Justice have lost case after case. He has lashed out against his own party's failure to enact the SAVE Act.

 

But as his frustration grows, history tells us that Trump will not retreat. He will not sit back and allow the rule of law and the courts to constrain him. He will escalate the attacks. With four months until the election, we must be prepared for what is coming, with a plan to respond.
