President Trump’s so-called Religious Liberty Commission wasn’t created to protect religious freedom for all Americans. Rooted in Christian Nationalist rhetoric, the Commission pushes a warped version of “religious freedom” that privileges one specific version of Christianity above all other faiths and the nonreligious.

On June 26, the Commission released its draft report—and it’s troubling. The report explicitly attacks the separation of church and state and calls it a “myth” that the Supreme Court dreamed up. But we all know that the separation of church and state is actually a cherished constitutional principle that is foundational to our nation. 

That’s where you come in — we need you to email the Religious Liberty Commission to let them know that Americans do value church-state separation, it does make our country stronger, and we will not tolerate it being erased by a dubious commission.

Please take action today, and tell the Religious Liberty Commission why church-state separation matters to you. On the eve of the 250th anniversary of American independence, we all need to protect this pillar of our democracy. Comments are due by July 13, 2026.
