Hi Muneer,
Lately, our reporters have dug deep on some big stories, from the growing fight over data centers to how the controversial weed killer Roundup is being sprayed in record amounts in California’s forests. What these stories have in common is that they are about systemic corruption, in which rich and/or (but mostly and) powerful people try to sideline everyone else to get their agenda done.
A huge part of that kind of corruption is making sure people don’t know what’s actually going on. That’s where independent journalism comes in. We won’t bury, whitewash, or sugarcoat the story.
This takes time. Our reporters and producers have to cut through tons of BS to get to the truth. They take time to get the story right—talking to people with different perspectives, not taking no for an answer.
