1Fort is announcing a $7.5 million funding round led by Bonfire Ventures, bringing total funding to date to $10 million.

Founded in 2022, the NYC-based startup offers a platform that gives agents direct and wholesale access to a variety of insurance companies. Agents can access cyber, tech E&O, management and professional liability coverages through 1Fort. The startup is licensed in 50 states and has integrations with Arch, The Hartford, Markel, and others.

BMW + Qover

Embedded insurance startup Qover has partnered with BMW and MINI to introduce a motor vehicle insurance solution for the Irish market. 

The new solution allows customers to request a quote, sign up, and manage their policies online or through the dealership. 

The partnership is supported by Wakam, a B2B2C insurer.

Looking to acquire

Ignyte Insurance officially launched as a specialty insurance platform dedicated to acquiring, scaling and accelerating high-performing insurance brands in niche markets around the world. The company launches following the recent sale of NSM Insurance Group's US commercial business to New Mountain Capital, a growth-oriented investment firm with over $55 billion in assets under management. 

Ignyte is now home to a global portfolio of specialty insurance brands spanning collector car, travel medical, international student health, leased equipment and other embedded insurance products. The company has over $650 million in premiums and serves millions of customers worldwide, with a presence in the US, UK, Europe and Australia.

Hertz + UVeye

Hertz is partnering with vehicle inspection platform UVeye to introduce advanced AI inspection to its US operations. 

UVeye, which is backed by W. R. Berkley, offers a drive-thru system that enables real-time, automated inspections of a vehicle's body, glass, tires, and undercarriage. 

The companies first rolled out the solution in Atlanta at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and they plan to bring more systems to major US airport locations.

Combo

Berlin-based Pliant has acquired Vienna-based hi.health to expand its presence into the insurance sector by combining its payment infrastructure with hi.health's reimbursement expertise. 

Founded in 2020, Pliant supports over 3,500 businesses and more than 20 partners across 30+ countries. The company issues Visa-powered credit cards in 11 currencies through its modular, API-first platform designed to streamline payments, improve cash flow, and serve industries with complex payment needs such as travel, fleet, and now insurance.

hi.health was founded in 2019 by Fredrik Debong and Sebastian Gruber to simplify reimbursement workflows. Its platform enables insured individuals to submit invoices and prescriptions for reimbursement directly through a mobile app, eliminating the need for upfront payments.

Amwins Special Risk Underwriters announced the launch of its new Excess Casualty Sidecar Program, designed to provide comprehensive coverage solutions across a broad range of industries.

State Farm is correcting the record
