The Skokie Fire Department welcomed several leadership changes at Monday’s Village Board meeting, ensuring a strong future for the department. Among the promotions was the swearing-in of Deputy Fire Chief Adam Pease, who will focus on operations, professional development, and community relationships.
Pease has built his career at the Skokie Fire Department, previously serving as battalion chief and as the department’s medical officer/EMS coordinator.
His dedication to the fire service is rooted in family tradition. His father, a retired lieutenant with the Glenview Fire Department, served 34 years, and three uncles went on to long and distinguished careers in Highland Park and Beloit, Wisconsin.

Skokie Welcomes Over 30 New Commissioners to Village Boards and Commissions
|
At last night’s Village Board meeting, more than thirty residents were officially appointed to serve on Skokie’s Boards and Commissions.
The Village relies on the nearly 250 dedicated residents who serve on advisory boards and commissions to provide insight and guidance on issues that affect the Village. These volunteers play a vital role in shaping policies and initiatives that help maintain Skokie as a great place to live.
How it works: Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Village Board of Trustees.
Get involved: Interested residents can apply through the Online, Interactive Board Member Application. Serving on a commission is a commitment, but it’s a rewarding way to contribute directly to local government.

While mosquito numbers in Skokie remain relatively low due to ongoing control efforts, the mosquitoes that are present are more likely to carry WNV than in previous years.
