- April 12 and 26
|
In addition to some of your favorite farmers’ market vendors, each market will feature entertainment and activities for all ages, including:
|
-
Live music at both locations, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Free children’s activities
- Fire pits each week
- S'mores at the first market of each month
|
Coming Up: Christmas Tree and Expanded Bagged Leaf Collection
|
Un-decking the halls? Skokie Public Works will pick up Christmas trees from January 5 through 16. Crews will also pick up bagged leaves during this time.
Christmas tree and bagged leaf pick-ups will be made weather permitting and not on a precise schedule.
|
WHAT TO DO WITH CHRISTMAS TREES
|
- Place trees in your normal trash collection area
- Remove all lights, ornaments and decorations
- Do NOT place trees in plastic bags
|
-
Place leaves in paper yard waste bags and leave them in your normal trash collection area
- Do not rake leaves into the street
|
Leaves support healthy soil and trees: If conditions permit, rake leaves into landscape beds or around trees, leaving a small “donut” of open space around the trunk. Apply leaf mulch to a depth of approximately four inches. Leaf mulch improves soil health, adds nutrients, and helps suppress weeds. Your lawn will thank you!
Need help with leaves, shoveling or other seasonal yard work? The Village's TeenLink program connects residents in need of assistance with local teens available for hire.
