| | | The latest McKinsey Global Survey on the state of AI finds that organizations are scaling AI across the enterprise—deploying it in more business functions and using tools ranging from chatbots to coding agents and agentic systems that can act autonomously across workflows. Employees are already seeing the benefits: Eight in ten respondents say AI has improved their individual productivity. But enterprise-level financial impact has yet to keep pace. Just 37 percent say AI has contributed to their organizations’ EBIT, essentially unchanged from a year ago.
What separates the leaders? AI high performers stand out for how they put it to work—and translate adoption into measurable impact. Explore the research for the latest on coding agents and other agentic AI tools, investment and costs, workforce implications, and the practices that can help turn AI momentum into lasting enterprise value.
