May is packed at Early to Bed! Join them on Thursday, May 14 from 7:30PM-9PM for a Sex Positive Providers Mixer, an evening for clinicians and providers working around gender, sexuality, and intimate body parts to connect, build community, and learn more about the shop over drinks and light bites.

On Saturday, May 23 from 1-6PM, shop the First Timer’s Makers Market featuring fresh faces from local LGBTQ+ artists and makers making their market debut at Early to Bed. Masks required from 1PM-2PM. 18+.

Curious about rope bondage? Let’s Get Knotty: Rope Bondage for Beginnerstakes place on Tuesday, May 26 at 7:30PM with a hands-on introduction to basic ties and harnesses in a relaxed, consensual environment led by an experienced instructor.

Paper & Pencil is turning three and celebrating in a big way with the grand opening of their new, larger shop at 5208 N Clark Street on Saturday, May 16. Shop new stationery finds from around the world, including shop exclusives, Japan-exclusive items, indie makers, and favorites from the Chicago Stationery Fest collection. The first 50 customers will receive a free gift with purchase! Ribbon cutting is at 11AM.

Please note Paper & Pencil will be closed May 11-15 while they prepare the new space, and Sunday, May 10 will be the final day to shop at the 1480 W Berwyn location before the move!

FARMERS MARKET STARTS MAY 13
The start of the Farmers Market season is one week away! The returns Wednesdays from May 13 through October 21 from 3–7PM on the 1500 block of W Winona and the AT&T lot. Featuring more than 60 vendors offering locally grown and produced goods from within 200 miles of Chicago, the market also includes weekly entertainment, cooking demos, kids’ activities, sustainability programming, and a new rotating Community Booth spotlighting local nonprofits, artisans, and neighborhood organizations. We are excited to welcome so many new vendors to the lineup. !

Mother's Day is Sunday and there is no shortage of items to make mom feel special around Andersonville. is now taking Mother’s Day orders for delivery across Chicagoland, reaching as far as the north and west suburbs, and everywhere in between. Advanced orders are required by May 8 or the morning of May 9, so don’t wait until Sunday morning!

ELISE MALARY PLAZA CONSTRUCTION MEETING
This quarter, contractors will begin work constructing Elise Malary Plaza by closing Catalpa between Clark and Ashland to traffic, and turning it into a beautified pedestrian plaza where the community can gather together, host events, and browse the local farmer’s market during the summer season. Ahead of the start of work, 40th Ward Alderperson Andre Vasquez's Office, the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the construction team will host this virtual pre-construction meeting. This will be an important opportunity for neighbors and businesses to learn details about the project and ask any questions they have of CDOT staff and contractors.  and register for the meeting.
