At 2pm, join the beloved Phoebe Snow Memorial Family Pride Parade and march in celebration of love, inclusion, and community.

Chicago Tap Theatre’s Loyola Park

Summer 7 Week Session


When: July 14-August 25

Where: Loyola Park Fieldhouse, 1230 W. Greenleaf Ave.


  • Youth Classes for ages 4-7 and 8-12. These classes are beginner-focused and will foster a love of dance and music that lasts a lifetime. 
  • Ages 8-12 students will learn tap dance basic steps and vocabulary as well as musical terms, and the class will blend technique, combinations, silliness, learning class structure, and tap history. 
  • Adult Classes are for ages 16+ for both Tap Basics and Advanced Beginners. Students will learn tap dance basic steps and vocabulary as well as musical terms, and the class will blend technique, combinations, and tap history.

  • Empowerment & Self-Defense Workshop: Sat, July 18 4:30pm. Learn how to feel and be safer, stronger, and more self-confident through our empowerment-based workshop. This workshop Adults and Teens (age 17+) includes both physical resistance skills to slow down an attacker and get away to safety, as well as communication strategies to deter violence before it starts.
  • Culture of Safety's Summer Camps: Culture of Safety's August Summer Camps still have some spots left! Looking for interactive, affordable, empowering child care for the weeks between Park Distract camps and CPS school? All camps are offered at sliding scale/tiered pricing. All camps are neurodivergent-friendly and LGBT-affirming. Immigrants welcome!

24th District Beat & Council Meetings

In the 49th Ward, the 24th District patrols nine Beats. Each patrol Beat in the Chicago Police Department hosts monthly or bi-monthly community Beat meetings. The primary purpose of the Beat community meetings is to allow Beat residents, other community stakeholders and police to discuss chronic problems on the Beat and to engage in problem-solving. Beat community meetings provide an opportunity for police and community residents to exchange information about conditions in the neighborhood.
