2025 One Howard Street Intersection Art RFP
Rogers Park Business Alliance (RPBA) invites artists or firms to submit proposals for these intersections above on Howard Street. One is located at Howard & Paulina. The other at Howard/Rogers/Greenview.
Designs are encouraged to be an impactful public art piece for the Howard Street community to enjoy that also contributes to pedestrian safety and traffic calming while incorporating the Howard Street brand.

Clean & Green Electronics Recycling Event

Empowerment & Self-Defense Workshop for Teens
& Their Adults

This empowerment-based workshop designed to help teens and their adults gain a sense of safety and confidence. This 2-hour interactive workshop includes physical self-defense skills, verbal safety skills and strategies to help each person feel safer, stronger, and more confident in everyday life.
In order to maximize accessibility, we are offering a limited number of low-cost registrations for this workshop in order to make it sliding scale. The sliding scale range is $25-75. Reduced rate spots are limited, so register soon.

In an effort to improve policing and public safety in the district, the 24th District Council is launching a feedback form for neighbors to share information we should know from community and CAPS meetings. Our role as the district council is to gather your insight in what is important. If you attend a community meeting and learn something we should know please fill out the form.

Junior Bear Football at Willye B. White Park

Junior Bear is a tackle football program with two divisions; the 8-10-year-old pee wee division and the 11-13-year-old varsity division. In a season that runs from August to October, players participate in opening ceremonies, clinics, and league play, along with the championship game and closing ceremonies. Uniforms, transportation, and giveaways are provided. Games are played at several locations throughout the city, usually on Saturdays, with some Tuesday night games.
Please contact the park supervisor, Richard Faust, to sign up your sons or daughters who are interested. Sign up may also be done online. Note there are two age groups and the Jr Bears program has a certain window for youth to sign up for the appropriate program.

Pratt Alterations

Nevila Selfollari is the proud new owner of Pratt Alterations, which she opened in September to bring high-quality tailoring to the Rogers Park community. A self-proclaimed perfectionist, Nevila studied tailoring for ten years and takes great pride in her craft. Her dedication stems from her journey: with the help of a sponsor, she emigrated from Tirana, Albania in 2022, settling in Chicago with her husband and two young adult children.

City of Chicago Camera Registration
The City of Chicago has launched a free and voluntary camera registration program open to anyone who lives or operates a business in Chicago. If you have a private security camera that captures the public way and you are interested in assisting in an investigation in the event of a crime in your neighborhood, you can register your camera with the Chicago Police Department.
By registering your camera, you are simply allowing the Chicago Police Department to contact you in the event of a crime in your area. The Chicago Police Department will not have direct access to your camera system and cannot access camera footage without your consent. There is no requirement to provide footage at any time.

In the 49th Ward, the 24th District patrols nine Beats. Each patrol Beat in the Chicago Police Department hosts monthly or bi-monthly community Beat meetings. The primary purpose of the Beat community meetings is to allow Beat residents, other community stakeholders and police to discuss chronic problems on the Beat and to engage in problem-solving. Beat community meetings provide an opportunity for police and community residents to exchange information about conditions in the neighborhood.
