Changes To SNAP Presentation

Where: State Representative Kelly Cassidy Office, 1507 W. Morse Ave. and Online.


The federal government passed a new law that makes significant changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known as Link in Illinois.


The Office of State Representative Kelly Cassidy is partnering with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to give a community presentation on what these changes are, how they may affect you, and what you should do by February 1st to ensure that you maintain your benefits. 


Artists of the Wall 2026 Poster Contest

Here’s your chance to leave your creative mark on one of Rogers Park’s most beloved festivals. The Loyola Park Advisory Council is inviting artists to design the official poster for the 33rd Annual Artists of the Wall Festival, featured on event promotions and festival t-shirts.

 Bonus: Artists retain full rights to their work

This survey revisits key questions to see what’s changed and how they can continue strengthening our relationship.

GENARRATIONS Story Telling

Do you have a story to tell? Join GENARRATIONS, a FREE six-week writing and performance class for adults 55 and older.


Participants in GeNarrations meet once a week for two hours to write five-minute stories based on themes raised by Goodman productions.


Writers of all experience levels are welcome!


Each participant in the winter 2026 session of GeNarrations will receive a free ticket to a coinciding Goodman Theatre production.

In the alleys of a sunless Big City, sibling stray cats Kitty and Tom use the garbage around them to make their world a more magical place. But when Kitty trades one of Tom’s precious creations for some magic beans, Tom angrily throws them away–only to have them sprout into a magnificent beanstalk. When they climb it, they discover why the sun has vanished from the city below (hint: a giant is involved).


A world premiere with music for kids ages 4-10 and their families.

24th District Beat & Council Meetings

In the 49th Ward, the 24th District patrols nine Beats. Each patrol Beat in the Chicago Police Department hosts monthly or bi-monthly community Beat meetings. The primary purpose of the Beat community meetings is to allow Beat residents, other community stakeholders and police to discuss chronic problems on the Beat and to engage in problem-solving. Beat community meetings provide an opportunity for police and community residents to exchange information about conditions in the neighborhood.
