Today, I’m proud to introduce the fourth software product in the Every subscription, Monologue.
Monologue is a voice dictation app for Mac that writes the way you talk. It understands your vocabulary, your apps, and your style—so you can work 3x faster without breaking flow.
Here’s just some of what Monologue offers:
- Smart formatting. Text comes out polished and structured for the app you’re in—no cleanup needed.
- Personal dictionary. Proper nouns, acronyms, and slang are remembered automatically.
- Deep context. With permission, Monologue sees your screen so it knows what you’re referencing.
- Multilingual by default. Dictate in 100-plus languages and switch between them effortlessly.
- Flexible modes. Use prebuilt workflows (email, docs, notes, code) or design your own.
Monologue has been in private beta for the last few months, and people love it. It’s already being used about 7,000 times a day to write over 1 million words a week. Here’s what a few of them had to say:

Why we built it
Monologue was built by a single developer, Every entrepreneur in residence (EIR) Naveen Naidu. He built the first version in one weekend because he wanted a better voice dictation app that could automatically send his dictated messages. He demoed it for the other Every EIRs, and soon the entire team switched to it from their other voice-to-text apps. That’s when we knew we had something great.
What makes Monologue special is it speaks every language you do. Our users don’t talk in neat, uniform sentences. They weave together startup metrics and poetry, code snippets and slang, English, Spanish, and Urdu—sometimes all in the same paragraph.
Unlike other dictation apps, Monologue doesn’t force you into a template or flatten your voice. Instead, it listens, learns, and translates across disciplines and languages—so you can move from thought to publish without breaking flow.
