We’re so back.
The morning after Fable 5 vanished from our model selectors on June 12, Every CEO Dan Shipper asked the team what they would use instead. Cora general manager Kieran Klaassen returned to Opus 4.8. Monologue general manager Naveen Naidu and engineer Andrey Galko went back to Codex. Andrey summed up the new arrangement in three words: “I miss Fable.”
He had company. People missed Fable badly enough that someone on X said there was no point in working until it returned. We sped through the stages of Fable grief, then used the forced separation to think about what we would give the model if we got another chance.
Now our long nightmare is over. The company restored access on Wednesday, July 1 at 3:30 ET, and said that usage will be fully included under Claude subscription plans until July 7, after which point access will be metered through the Claude API.
If you’re anything like us, you’ve been keeping a “when Fable comes back” list. We turned ours into a Fable 5 Prompt Library. It has:
- 13 prompts the Every team uses for overnight work, product builds, research, writing, loops, and dynamic workflows
- A quick way to decide when Fable is worth the cost and when another model will do
- The recording and transcript from our two-hour Fable 5 Power User Camp
We’ve done enough mourning. Fable is back, our lists are long, and it’s time to give the best model we’ve tested the work we’ve been saving for it.
