I'm here to announce the end of the monthly industry update emails. 

TL;DR: We'll continue to send out regular emails for what's new on Embedded Artistry, and we will occasionally include interesting links and news as part of that. We’ve also added a new setting allowing you to have fine-grained control over what emails you receive.  Unsubscribe or select the emails you'd like to see in the future.

The industry update made sense when I was largely doing product development consulting, system design, and programming work. It was a way to stay abreast of industry changes and continually push myself to learn and explore. But that's not the work I want to do anymore. I also recognize how the drive to continually push myself and stay on top of industry developments contributed to the burnout I experienced last year (and am still dealing with). 

There are practical reasons, too. The industry update takes a week to write each month. And newsletter writing week always seems to appear out of nowhere when I've got great momentum on another project. So, I've decided to end the frustrating disruptions and focus on more meaningful work.

What's Next

The newsletter will live on, though it will shift over the next year. For now, we'll be sending updates every two weeks. These will be shorter and primarily feature new content, updates we've made to the site, and discussions on the member's forum. We may also include some links or commentary whenever we find something notable to share.

I'm also going to focus on exploring some of the areas I mentioned in the August 2024 industry update: waste reduction, pollution (especially from plastics and electronic waste), developing healthier approaches to work, and exploring what mature product development looks like. If you're only interested in particular topics, you can select the ones you want to hear about.
