Super Safety by Hoffman Tactical

The Super Safety by Hoffman Tactical has recently dropped. The Super Safety is a mechanism that actively resets the trigger of a firearm to allow the operator to fire again, quickly, and efficiently. The Super Safety has been designed to operate with AR-15 pattern firearms that use a mil-spec bolt carrier and fire control group. It comprises only a few printable components with a slight modification to the trigger in the fire control group that can be performed with a dremel tool. The Super Safety comes with single mode and dual mode components for the cam mechanism, as well as detailed instructions. We hear the ATF is NOT pleased.

FYRE and ICE

Spaceboundtactical has just released some remixes and a few magazines for his new project: FYRE and ICE Mac Daddy. These are aesthetic patterns on the MacDaddy by FMDA which is a pistol caliber carbine which uses a MAC-11 upper, AR-15 FCG/Stock/Grip, and Glock Magazines. These are clean and simple presentations of a classic design that offer real utility with fully printable extended magazines. Just a download away. We highly endorse.

Pump action AR-15

3D Printing from parts kits includes innovations not limited to the mere building of reliable ghost guns. We see this clearly in the official V1 release of both the Apple Pie and Monarch printable AR15-based platforms. These files not only fire the traditional AR calibers, but even some of the big boi ones like 458 Socom, 450 Bushmaster, and 50 Beowulf.

This is a hybrid intermediate caliber AR design can make use of DIY upper technology, and the first releases have arrived in this duo from developers SwarmTech, MiddletonMade and 3D Arms! Both the Apple Pie and Monarch rifles are multi-caliber (supporting 5.56, 7.62x39 and more), and both embody a repeater design: the Apple Pie is pump-action, and the Monarch can be built as either pump action or straight-pull bolt action.

There are two major innovations that these firearms exhibit: first, the DIY upper and second, a multi-caliber design. DIY uppers have been demonstrated earlier in the pistol-caliber ARK and the semiautomatic Biden's Bane, and these releases somewhat combine those designs: like the Biden's Bane, they are intermediate caliber, but like the ARK they are a repeater design. The repeater design likely means that these releases will have greater durability, and are perhaps more suited to a marksman-style application.

As with all AWCY releases, the Monarch comes with many accessories, including a DIY precision stock and multiple hand-guard designs. The Apple Pie also has several alternate parts. Download, configure and start building yours today!

Bear Arms n Bitcoin 2023

Bear Arms N' Bitcoin 2023 is coming up sooner than you think. Get your early bird tickets here and come and meet the luminaries of the DIY Defense community. The sponsors of the BANB have been able to secure discounted hotel rates for select rooms at the hotel where the conference is happening and pick these up before they run out.

One of our talented speakers, Mr_Snow, has been involved with 3DP for years and we at DEFCAD were able to secure an interview with him about his involvement and his upcoming talk.

How long have you been actively involved in the scene?
I've been actively involved with 3D printed guns for 5 years, but have been building and collecting actively for over 20 years.

What got you interested in 3D printed firearms in the first place?
I first got a 3D printer to make my own sci-fi weapon props. I discovered Derwood's work on the Shuty-9, and a light bulb illuminated. I can make the props functional! So I did.

What is the project you are most proud of?
I'm most proud of my overall contribution to spreading the message of private gun making. Specifically trying to remain respectful to all parties as much as possible. My wildest fun project is the "gattleprod".

What are you is most excited to see and/or do at the conference?
My favorite part of BANB is always the people I meet. Making new friends and connections. In a world filled with boring people, BANB is a sign of intelligent life.

Can you give us a hint at what you're planning to speak about?
I plan to discuss community building and group dynamics of the gun making space.
